The larger screened PSP offers little competition to the Video iPod due to the expense of the UMD movie disks. Although admittedly the screen is much bigger the Video titles are hard to come by and the Apple Music Store(tm) saves you having to walk down to the shops.
Another plus side to the Video iPod is that you can watch pop music videos which is more entertaining than just listening to music and gives you something else to look at on the train as opposed to the garish seat colours or graffiti. True, the iPod does have a small screen but its still of a similar resolution to standard definition TV. Apple boasted sales of 14 million iPods in the last quarter of 2005, and over 20 million in the last quarter of 2006 bringing total sales for the product to around 100 million.
However, audiologists and other hearing experts have been issuing warnings that improper use of iPods (and other personal stereos) can dramatically heighten risk, particularly in young people. Digital Music, Mp3’s, downloading and copying to disk. Isn’t this all illegal? No. What is illegal? Downloading or distributing copyrighted material that you haven’t acquired legitimately.
